Flammable liquid storage
Contexte et enjeux
- Accidental risks and urban planning control (boil-over, UVCE, fire in a retention pond etc.): issues regarding the suppression of fires in retention ponds with a surface area of over 6,000 m². Issues related to urban planning control according to the hazardous areas.
- Chronic risks: Water and soil pollution. Issues regarding the water-tightness of the retention ponds of polar and toxic product tanks, resistance to the surge effect and fire resistance of the walls or dikes of the ponds.
- Chronic risks: VOC (health hazards according to the vulnerability of the local environment, air quality). Issues regarding VOC emissions, in particular the calculation methods used, the emissions of tanks (breathing + emptying / filling phases) and loading / unloading stations (boats, wagons and trucks). It should be noted that the vapour recovery obligation is only applicable to the loading / unloading of petrol on wagons, trucks and river vessels (in accordance with precisely defined thresholds), not to the loading of ships for maritime transport (there are no international standards regulating the design of orifices for the connection of vapour recovery units).
