The legislation on classified installations for environmental protection is likely to apply to the following facilities:

• hospitals / clinics
• pharmacies
• general practitioners

…operating the following activities:

• radioactive sources, sealed or otherwise
• drugs manufacturing / division
• hospital waste management

The activities under the Public health code (monitored by the DDASS - Departmental Directorate for Health and Social Affairs) should be distinguished from those under the Public Building regulation (monitored by civil safety authorities) and the Environmental code (monitored by the Inspectorate of classified installations for environmental protection).

The competence of the ASN (Nuclear Safety Authority) in the field of radiation protection should be pointed out.
